Holland Gin, it's really a historical naming convention as the gin from holland isn't the gin we're used to hearing about today. Once upon a time, gin imported to America was brought from Holland and taste like what we now call Genever. It's not a juniper-centric spirit, but something entirely different. Odd how times change and products become something completely different.

Today, we bring back the historic holland gin in a recipe that uses two ancient spirits in the form of absinthe and genever. Taste a bit of history.

The third halloween cocktail for 2009, we're getting closer to the day so let's really start cranking through some sillyness. This time we're creating the Sour Witch, another Jonathan Pogash recipe using Lucid Absinthe and sour cherries. We opened a bottle of sparkling wine earlier in the week so we're using it with this cocktail as well.
