Dreamsicle Martini

The creamsicle was one of my favorite desserts as a kid so this recipe was a must try. Although entitled Dreamsicle Martini we're using a lowball glass because it was fun to add a bit more ice and get the cocktail colder. We went back to the Haamonii Smooth Shochu for this episode as it makes a great citrus vodka alternative with huge smoothness.

Thanks for the dreamsicle martini - it was nice. Although i had to improvise as i couldn't find the shochu. I also was looking for the Senor Frogs tequila and my local bevmo didn't carry it...is it new? are both of these worth the search?

I've got about 45 different hawaiian shirts, just got another four last week, they're not going anywhere. Just sometimes change it up a bit to make sure people are paying attention!

Double it up!
Double the ice cream may work, or just put in a bit more orange juice. What type of citrus vodka are you using? Ketel One worked fine in my tests as well.

Absolut. Tried with 2x ice cream + more orange juice, it was ok but too sweet for me :-) prefer refreshing ones like redhead slut or blue hawaiiann, oh well... :-)

I don't own any Absolut but perhaps it's too strong and cuts through the flavors. But, yes, this is a sweet drink, I didn't find it too sweet though but it may have to do with the ingredients. You may have a sweeter ice cream for instance, and that can effect the outcome.

I think this is a cocktail that would go good after dinner if you're itching for something refreshingly sweet, like a float or bowl of ice cream. I'd not sit down and hammer four or five of them down in a serious manner :)
