Maggots Cocktail

The fourth halloween cocktail for 2009, this is the second-to-last cocktail to ring in the spooky Halloween season until next year. The Maggots Cocktail is a slightly silly take on a cocktail and, regardless to making the cocktail look like maggots, you'll get a nice coffee-esque taste with hints of peach, that's good regardless to effect.
Although we didn't get a huge "maggots" look and feel to the cocktail, it's always worth experimenting and trying new recipes. That is how we grow as cocktail drinkers!

The Brain Hemorrhage shooter is a great Halloween drink!
I made a few of them up last night and left 'em in teh fridge overnight. Not only do they freak people out during the day (cause they look awful!) but the Irish Cream also curdles much harder and ends up looking even more like a "brain". If you wanna get fancy you could use the Mint or Caramel Baileys. I was just using a standard Irish Cream from a supermarket. - I'm Irish livingin Dublin and there's about half a dozen different Irish Creams available beside just baileys
Crazy Drink
The reason I didn't do the brain hemorrhage shooter was because we already did it. The Bloody Brain recipe we had was full of vodka instead of peach schnapps and it didn't do what was needed to make the drink look right.

I came across a Brain
I came across a Brain Haemorrhage/Bloody Brain that called for Gin AND Vodka! That'd be pretty lethal I'd say cause even though the standard brain haemorrhage doesn't have a huge amount of alcohol in it, just the schnapps and a cream liqueur, it still has a very strong flavour to it doesn't it?
Strong Flavor
It depends on what you mean by "strong flavor" as the typical shooter is more sweet than potent. I like the flavor better than gin/vodka in that style of shooter. The Peach schnapps really helps the irish cream sit well suspended and look more like a brain. That's the important part in that shooter.

I'm going to order some of that Zubrówka Bison Vodka, sounds good :)

Yeah, if I could get their PR folks to contact me or return my attempts to contact them it would be easier. My budget does not allot for every brand o' vodka. I don't have THAT many sponsors yet :)

Yeah, I don't want it to have the texture or taste of maggots. I've never had maggots, personally, but I can gather it's not a good time.

I don't know if it looked like maggots before, I think it looked like bailey's suspended in liquor :) Which is cool too!
