Old Kungaloosh
Submitted by dschommer on Thu, 01/07/2010 - 10:11

Every now and again there is a drink that comes along that is way to easy to finish. You'll probably find yourself having seconds and thirds before your good judgment kicks in. The Old Kungaloosh is such a drink, it's sweet and inviting and asks you to stay around and chat like a friendly neighborhood friend.
And, it tastes good too.

That drink is the awesome! We garnished with maraschino cherries to take it up one additional level on the awesome scale. Keep up the great work in 2010, Derrick and Jennifer. We always look forward to your cocktail suggestions and Sunday Night Shooters help us slide back in to the work week.
Here is a pic of how ours came out :

Â
Well my favorite drink of this year is Captains Bulldog. Really nice drink. Just make an Colorado Bulldog and change the vodka for captain morgan.
My girl love a drink i use to make, no name yet but its girlfriendly. !! Warning, europe measurement !!
Â
4cl Bacardi razz
2cl Triple Sec
3cl lime
Splash of cranberry(to make it red)
Top it off with sprite
Garnish with Mint Sprig(it make it look fresh and tasty)
Â
If you want you can steal the recipe and make it some "common man cocktail of awesome" ;P Well it just a really easy drink to drink.
New Years resolution?
So, your new years resolution was to "create an account and comment"? :) Nice to have you along, I've put the drink in my list o' drinks to do. Just have to get a mint sprig (not exactly the time of year to pick my own). I should probably put a mint bushel in the house near a window...
2009
Best drink of 2009 in my opinion was the Toblerone - unfortunately I made some for my friends and it wiped out our stock of Frangelico :-P Definitely tastey though!
Â
The boyfriend liked the Axe Murderer best though...but he's much less into the sweet stuff than I am!
No Frangelico?
The Toblerone recipe had all my favorite things, but I had no Frangelico, so I tried the same recipe but with Amaretto instead of the Frangelico and it tastes SUPER AWESOME. I think it's even better than the original!
Frangelico
I guess if you've got to find a substitute for frangelico, Amaretto would be the next best thing!

1/3 shot Kahlua® coffee liqueur
1/3 shot amaretto almond liqueur
1/3 shot Bailey's® Irish cream
Carefully layer ingredients, in order, into a shot glass; kahlua, amaretto, then irish cream.

Tastes like heaven mixed with awesomeness. I kept spamming your mail box with this recipe, but still no video :P (hint, hint).

Me too: Whiskey Sour =)
Go for #2 then :-) Well, I
Go for #2 then :-) Well, I tasted both, as this one tastes awesomer :-) Especially, if you love almonds.
Proud to be awesome.
My favourite cocktail of 2009.
This was a cool episode! Good job. Regarding my favorite cocktail of 2009; I wish i could say it was from your site, but the best cocktail i had the past year was at a bar in Oslo called Barfly, and the drink was named "Big Apple", it was a frozen drink with Calvados, Ammaretto and some cinnamon crazyness and sweet syrup stuff. It was REALLY good, but i cant figure out how to make it myself, so i go to their bar JUST for this drink.

Big Apple
That's the best thing a bar can do, is create a recipe that brings you back. This is why recipes like Trader Vic's Mai Tai has been such a secret for years... if anyone could make it exactly the same, then why would you keep going toi Trader Vic's? Well, there are plenty of reasons to go to Trader Vic's, but it's a good example.
Frozen drinks
Yeah, every bar needs a "signature" drink. But it sucks for my wallet, because a drink is waaay more expensive in a bar then if you make it at home. I pay 16 dollars for that drink, which is a little over the normal price for a long drink in Norway, so i drink 10 of these, thats 160 dollars. Imagine all the bottles of liqour you could get for 160 dollars! But yeah, its very tasty. Frozen drinks are awesome. You should do some frozen drinks on the show!

Proud to be awesome.
They are fun!
Jelloshots are tons of fun! It would be cool of there was a "Jell-o shot" on the Sunday night Shooter! I remember the first time i made them, they would not freeze because i had too much vodka in the mix. Now the only problem we have is getting all the jello out of the shotglasses, hehe. But its always a good time when someone whips out some jello shots!

Hmm, just occured to me.
Hmm, just occured to me. Wouldn't pousse-cafe jello shots just be THE awesome? Gotta try that some time.
