Red Pear Cocktail
Submitted by dschommer on Wed, 11/25/2009 - 10:48

I'm feeling seasonal again. Pears have fallen slightly out of season here in New England as we have already harvested all the pears from the three tree's I grow. However, pear vodka is always in season and pomegranate juice is highly flavorful and bright. This cocktail lends itself to a slightly sour taste, which isn't something we explore as much as we should on the show
Also, checkout the Ice Jacket on the vodka, isn't it cute? A good holiday gift for cocktail lovers that have a bit of room in the freezer to stand up an ice jacket (we froze ours slightly tilted to fit in the freezer in the basement)
Anyone have any interest in a customized Common Man Cocktails branded ice jacket?

More Pear Vodka Cocktails
Thanks so much! It's really hard to find pear vodka cocktails, which is a shame, since I love pear vodka. If you are interested in another one, here is one I came up with myself. It's a twist on the Harvey Wallbanger, which I dubbed the Harvey Wallhumper (did you see what I did there? oh yeah):
Â
1 oz vodka
1 oz pear vodka
orange juice
amaretto
Â
Combine the vodka and pear vodka over ice in a collins glass and fill with orange juice almost to the top. Float a splash of amaretto on top.
Â
It has quickly become one of my all-time favorite drinks. You can play around with the amount of pear vodka to add. I've been using Absolut Pear, and the pear taste is pretty strong.
Cool
Nice. We've got another pear vodka cocktail arriving this coming week so stay tuned for that as well, and it's blue!
Tattoos
Hi Derrick! Did you get a tattoo on your right arm? Sometimes during this episode it looks like there's a couple of black lines on your arm. I went back 3 - 4 episodes, but couldn't find anything. Take a look at 02:43! I swear it's something there!
Tattoo's
Yes, that's the edge of the tattoo that's on my right arm, I think I got it about four months ago or so, I tried to find the photo on facebook but I must have forgot to upload it; it's a trible design of a wolf howling at the moon (of course, all you can see in the video's is the bottom of the tribal design). That's the fourth. I've got the tree of life with my kids names on it on my left foot and the chinese character for Dragon along with a dragon on my right foot (as I'm the year of the dragon, 1976)
Tattoo's
I wouldn't have guessed you were that into getting tattoo's. What do your whife think about the once that you have? Is there a special reason for the last one with the wolf and the moon? I don't know many people that are interested in tattoo's, but my teacher in Micro Economics is going to get one like this if no one fails his exam this semester (and yeah, I'm not about to fail):
I think it symbolizes that society is better off producing the quantity of goods and services that are maximizing social benefits then the quantity that is maximizing money proffits.
