A unique tasting experience that may make new fans of jagermeister and bourbon. The homemade sweet/sour recipe gives a nice flavor with good sours and sweets that taste as natural as they are! We're building this slightly different than the recipe says, but that's okay, do what you love.
This is a recipe worth checking out if you like either of the core ingredients in this cocktail.

No love for Bourbon, Yet!
Dude, you didn't treat the Bourbon like you treat the Tequila! You always smell the Tequila, you just popped the top and poured the Bourbon. Where's the Love? Any case, nice drink, I'll stick to Bourbon and sour, water, soda water or Ginger Ale. I'll use this drink as an intro to Bourbon for the girls. I'm always intrerested in new ways to get the girls to drink Bourbon. Soooo, Makers and Woodford, what else do you have? A side bar, the homemade S/S mix is great. I tried it with the Amaretto Stone Sour and it was a little bitter but still better than the pre-mix. I did get a Boston Shaker for X-mas and I love it! I have the same strainer as you, to go with it. (Not the one with the long handle)Â
Sweet and Sour
You should put double the amount of simple syrup in there if not it will be more sour than sweet. I recomend 1 oz lemon juice, 1 oz lime juice, 1 oz sugar and 1 oz water. Feel free to use your own recipe though =)
Double?
So double the simple syrup, but your recipe only has 1 oz. of sugar? Here is mine:
Â
Â
Looks just like yours, no?
Â
Mathematics
Remember that if you put 1 oz of your 1 oz. sugar, 1 oz. water mixture in there you're actually puting in .5 oz. sugar and .5 oz water. How could you add 1 oz. sugar + 1 oz. water = 2 oz. with 1 oz. ?
Narfer, I suck at math
I totally suck at math, but I understand what you're saying now. Granted, I drank the sweet/sour mix straight and thought it was pretty tasty, so I kept the recipe that way. Next time I'll try doubling the sugar and see how that works - this week I've got another recipe coming up that's using homemade sweet/sour using the same recipe I had last week.
Â
Also, this week is heavy on Midori, so if you've got that available it would help :)
Looking forwards
I'm looking forwards to the upcomming episodes. I have midori (one of my many favourites!).

I totally understand people with math problems. Teenagers here in Norway are hardly learning any math (or other subjects for that matter) these days. Teachers are underpaid and underqualified here in Norway (just as in many other countries). Our neighbour country Finland has the best school in the OECD countries (57 countries) according to the PISA ranking, and we're #33. I hope this will improve in the new decade, for both USA, Norway and the other countries struggling in the world.
Â
As for our little math problem. Remember not only to double the amount of sugar, but also the water! The final recipe will look like this:

Good luck!

Best wishes,
Marius
I hate math
I've never liked math, it was not my subject at all. I was born with more of a "creative" side to the brain, always aced the art classes with top in class without even trying. It frustrated the teachers to no end because I never paid attention but still bested them in all areas of art.
Â
Of course, somehow, that lead to a degree in Computer Science and becoming a programmer. People seem to think you need math to be a programmer which is not true in most situations... you need to know how to make the computer DO the math for you. Unless, you were a 3D game developer...matrix math is way too hard for me (but a lot of that is becoming obsolete with libraries and tools).
Â
You sound much like the US in terms of complaining about education. Our kids write their essays in Instant Message Speak and don't understand that "ur" is not a proper substitute for "you're" and "gtg" doesn't work for "Good to Go." However, I bet you're schools blow away most of our United States public school efforts!
Â
Even when playing World of Warcraft, I always type with full sentences in an understandable manner. Sure, there is no spell check, but at least people can grasp the communication ;-)
Full sentences
I too try to write complete sentences with capital letters where they should be and such.
Â
I'm sure you're right that some Norwegian schools are better than US public schools, but that's not nearly good enough considering that the Norwegian school is the most expensive school in the world! Nowhere else do they use as much money on schools as here in Norway. It's not corrupt eighter; so all the money actually goes towards educating and still they can't figure out how to get the teenagers to shut up and pay attention! This frustrates me a lot as you can probably tell. I just hope that these problems are solved by the time I have kids of my own.
Â
PS: Is it "Good to Go" or "Got to Go"? That's the problem with "substitute language". Someone writes "g2g" and you're all "Ok, we're good to go guys! Wait... What just happened, did he get disconnected?"
JEGER!!
Yaaay, more Jegermeister! I just love that stuff. This is definetaly a drink i am gonna try out on my next party. It looks a bit manly! I might garnish it with a bloody meat cleaver to add more manliness to it. Cant wait to try it. Great episode!!
-Even monkeys fall from trees-
Exactly
That's exactly what I was thinking...meat cleaver!
