Turkey Trot

Visit AwesomeDrinks.com for glassware and more!

Gobble gobble gobble!? That's the sound of the turkey and here is how we're drinking in the new season of feastivities: The Turkey Trot. Bourbon fans all over the world will be able to enjoy the light cocktail with cranberries and 7up (citrus) along with their favorite bourbon spirit.

We're bringing a new bourbon to the show, Maker's Mark and giving that a whirl. Happy Thanksgiving, Erntedankfest or whatever you celebrate this holiday!

It's not gonna be light.

Hilarious!!  My favorite line to date!  That's why I watch.  Nice drink, made it for my girlfriend who isn't a bourbon drinker, and she liked it as well as the whiskey sour which I make with an egg white.  Full Blown Voltron, you can't get that at any other sight.  I agree about the New Transformers, they look so sharp.  Like they'll cut you.  You can't beat the late 80s.  I look forward to the new site and the Bourbon Tasting.   I'm about ready to order the G'Vine Dry Gin and the Blue Coat Gin to see which I would prefer as a standard.  Thanks for the suggestions.

Taste treat!

Just made this with Jim Beam.  Very tasty!

Since I never visited facebook... First time I see how this show is being shot :-)

Proud to be awesome.

Oh yeah!

I should do a "behind the scenes video" :) That shot was done by my former boss at work when they all came over for a night of drinking. He's pretty tall, so you get a good overview of the set from a height :)

There are slight variations now, we put a video monitor under the camera since I stole my fathers old LCD montior and hooked it up to the mac that's capturing the video since it has about four video card ports in it I figured I'd use at least one more :)

I always thought that those

I always thought that you were shooting all those videos in the sitting-room.

Proud to be awesome.

Nope!

I don't have a sitting room, we do have a "play room" for the kids, which would be the formal living room/sitting room for normal homes I guess. No, we record it in the attic, that way we don't have to tear down the equipment every week and re-set it up. That would get annoying.

The downfall being that everytime I need to record I have to bring up about 8 accessories, glasses, shakers, measuring cups, spoons, etc. Sometimes alcohols as well (if they're in my stash downstairs)

T-Shirt

Yeah, I didn't have a Turkey T-Shirt, kinda disappointed in myself :)

Roll

Looks very taste.
Derrick, ive said before, but try roll the drink (pour the drink back and forward into you mixing tin, and pour into glass) instead of stirring the drink. It saves time and the drink still gets mixed.. :-)

Rolling

Actually, I was rolling whiskey sours the other night because they were just too large to shake :) I had made a "double" for two...so four drinks in one shaker :)

I always forget to do the rolling technique.

Stirring

The stirring is more for chilling the drink rather then mixing it up, so it would take some time to chill regardless ^^.

But with simple drink i usually roll my drinks around aswel, rather then stirring.

stirring vs rolling

I'd say that stirring is for chilling AND mixing :)
As an everydaydrinker I sometimes use the rolling technique, but only for drinks with ice in a glass. pour from tin to tin and back and than everything including ice goes to my glass :) I'm not using it for drinks in cocktail glasses without ice, rolling would not chill a drink enough.
in that particular case I would also refrain from rolling. I think you'd loose a lot of carbonization, which I assume is a "part" of this cocktail.

Happy Thanks Giving, US guys.

Happy Thanks Giving, US guys.

Proud to be awesome.

Yea yeah!

I'm stuffed, tired and ready to play some world of warcraft until 2 in the morning. Happy thanksgiving! :)

LOL...   You should try

LOL...

You should try Torchlight (made by ex Blizzard Diablo programmers, etc.), it's like $20 or so.

Proud to be awesome.

Oh yeah!

Yeah, my buddy at work plays Torchlight. I think he bought it after the demo, they're supposedly making an MMO out of it.
